Okay, so this whole ATPI thing really stressed me out. I needed 9 images. The deadline was Friday. It was Wednesday, and I had 2 pictures. To say I was freaking out, was an understatement. After talking to my battle buddy, Heather Ellis, I decided to take a trip to Ellis Pottery. I saw the flowers in front, and started snapping, hoping to capture something worth entering in the contest. I took around a trillion pictures before I saw ants crawling on the group of orange flowers. I then took a million more pictures of the ants, and this picture, I feel, was the best outcome. So was this picture planned? Yes and No, Take your pick. I am very excited about this picture  because I used my rule of thirds, depth of field, and focus points. ( I got very lucky with the natural lighting.)

Crap.

ISO 1000
81mm
f/4.0
1/250 sec shutter speed
This picture cannot be used; not in the yearbook, newspaper, or contest, and that frustrates me.  It is out of focus and very graining up close. Why? Because I forgot to turn on the super speed whatever whatever button my flash. By not pressing that one little button, my shutter speed was automatically knocked down to 1/250 second. That one little button changed everything that Friday night. All my pictures that I was sooo excited about, turned out to be crap. It was my first football game so now I know how to fix it next week, and don't you fret, it WILL be fixed. AHH It would have been so awesome if this picture along with a few others could be used. This is a learning experience, right?
